Jacqueline is over her teeny bop room and is ready for something way more sophisticated. She already purchased her bedding (which I love and I actually bought two pillow shams with the same pattern but had no where to put them… so to Jac’s room they go)
I chose Behr’s Manhattan Mist for the walls (grey is such a great neutral). Then for the wall behind her bed I think doing a large stencil with Behr’s Gray Timber Wolf color would really be an incredible accent wall. One of my new obsessions is Cutting Edge Stencils shop on Etsy. (click here to see the stencil I chose for Jac) Right above the headboard I would place the oval mirror from Ikea… ($15).
For next to the bed I found the greatest side table from Walmart…. guess how much…… $25!!! Two of the legs are white and two are clear…. so cool. I might have to get one. I really want to have lots of texture and shine since the color scheme is really simple…. So I chose a shiny silver lamp from Target…for all that late night reading ;). I would suggest a pop of yellow for the curtains I found these velvet ones on Amazon… just to add more texture. (or you can buy fabric and make them) I found fun art work from Sara Greene’s Etsy shop that is in keeping with the color scheme and I would frame them with silver frames (Ikea has cheap ones)
Jac already has the ikea dresser shown above but I though it would be cool to make it stand out by putting a Bible verse in vinyl on the front. The verse I have shown says ” You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is so precious to God. 1 Peter 3:4”. This vinyl is from Back 40 Life. Whatever verse she decides I would suggest getting it printed in all caps and in New Century Gothic font, that way it will be nice and graphic.
For her desk I would find a vintage piece…. thrifting or craig’s list and paint it yellow. Above the desk I would place a large ribbon memo board for pictures and other keepsakes. (HomeGoods currently has those) That about wraps it up!
